Foxpedite Capture — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

Foxpedite Capture turns the cart on the page you are viewing into a purchase order in your Foxpedite account. This policy covers the Chrome extension. It is the only thing the extension does, and this page describes everything it reads, sends and stores.

What it accesses, and when

Nothing happens until you click the Foxpedite Capture icon in the toolbar. On that click, and only on the tab you are looking at, the extension reads the page to find cart line items — vendor, item descriptions, quantities and unit prices.

It declares no persistent content scripts, does not run in the background, and has no access to your other tabs, your bookmarks or your browsing history.

What leaves your device, and to whom

Cart line items When you press "Create Purchase Order," the vendor, line items, quantities, unit prices and the options you chose (project, draft or submit for approval) are sent to Foxpedite's API to create the order in your account.
Page text If the extension cannot find a structured cart on the page, and only then, the page URL, title and up to 20,000 characters of the page's visible text are sent to Foxpedite's extract-cart endpoint. That endpoint forwards the text to Google's Gemini API, which returns the line items it recognised. Foxpedite does not store that page text — it is held only for the length of the request.
Cart screenshot Optional, controlled by the "Attach full cart screenshot" checkbox in the popup. When enabled, the extension captures an image of the cart page and attaches it to the purchase order, so whoever approves the order can see what was ordered. Uncheck the box and no image is taken. It is stored as an attachment on that purchase order in your own Foxpedite account.
API key Sent to your Foxpedite API host as an authorization header on each request, to identify the account the purchase order belongs to.

All of it goes to your own Foxpedite account. Google's Gemini API is the only third party involved, it is used only for the AI fallback described above, and it receives page text — never your API key or your account details.

What is stored

What is never collected

Your browsing history, the contents of tabs you did not invoke the extension on, your clicks, scrolling or keystrokes, your location, your name or email address, and any payment credentials. The extension contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers.

Our commitments

Your controls

Uncheck "Attach full cart screenshot" to stop screenshots being taken. Revoke the API key at any time in Foxpedite under Settings → API Keys, which immediately cuts the extension off from your account. Uninstalling the extension removes the key and settings stored on your device.
